Extraordinary adventure with Alaitol Safaris in Tanzania!!

We had a week on safari and then 5 nights at Zanzibar (definitely the right order to do it in), and it was amazing. Karato from Alaitol Safari picked us up in Arusha and took us to the Ngorongoro Crater, and then on to The Serengeti, and it was the most amazing 5 days. Not only is Karato very knowledgeable about safari and life in Tanzania, his own personal life story is unforgettable - we truly felt like we had become friends by the end of it - which made the experience even more special. His enthusiasm for life in infectious and made an already memorable holiday even more so. We also really liked the safety and customer care that Alaitol Safari provide - we felt like we were in great hands, not just with Karato but with the company more broadly. He was also a very safe driver, and given how much time you spend on the road, this is a very good thing! Thank you Karato and the team at Alaitol Safari.

Best family adventure with highly professional tour company

Our family of 5 (boys aged 15,13,8) had the most incredible wildlife safari with Alaitol Safaris. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and professional and the company is very clear about procedures for tipping ahead of time which is greatly appreciated. The tour guides clearly take pride in their jobs. They made us feel like family. The pop-top land cruiser was comfortable and they partner with Torrillis camps for those who want a glamping experience more in nature rather than a lodge which our family loved. Our favorite destinations were Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro crater which surprised us because we thought we would want more time in the Serengeti. We traveled at the end of November during the shoulder season but still saw the big 5 and witnessed the wildebeest migration. It was very rainy in the Serengeti and multiple companies had cars that got stuck. We were very grateful to be with a company that had multiple cars in the reserve at the same time to help each other - some small companies were stuck for 12 hours or more - basically lost the whole day of sight seeing- and were still waiting when we left after trying unsuccessfully to help them. In addition we were able to customize our trip to include transportation to Dodoma as we couldn’t find flights that coordinated with our schedule. Mary was fantastic to work with and the trip was one of the best ever adventures for our pretty adventurous family.

Safari trip so exceeded our expectations

We were novices but should not have worried. Our entire package was so well organized. Everything possible for our success in seeing animals and birds happened flawlessly. Our guide, Onesmo, answered every question about animals, birds and plants with in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for his teaching role. Lodges were comfortable. Food amazing. How do they do that in such remote spaces? Everything happened on time and at the highest standard.

Outstanding from Start to Finish

We are so happy we chose Alaitol Safaris for our trip! Hussein was our guide who was VERY professional, knowledgable, answered all our questions, and made sure we had the best time! He helped other guides, he knew all the lodges, and he advocated for us at every hotel/lodge we stayed at. He made sure we got to see as many wildlife as possible. He has 11 years of experience and he is fluent in English. The pick up and drop off from the airport was seamless. We got to visit 3 different NPs. Pre Tour communication was excellent, Jane let us choose our own lodging and were flexible about frequent changes to our plans. We enjoyed choosing our own lodging. The jeeps were comfortable and very clean. I thank Alaitol Safaris team for the great service, We hope to return to Tanzania in the future still under your service.

Baraza, our guide, was particularly knowledgeable, attentive, kind and an excellent driver; we very much enjoyed our bicycling excursion and meeting the people of his native town of Mtowambu, near Lake Manyara. Beyond Expectations

My expectations were high as I had taken a safari with Alaitol Safari Travel in 2016. Four of us wished to return to Northern Tanzania again. Alaitol superb staff worked with us, fall 2019, to create an itinerary that combined our wishes with their suggestions. By March, the dates for our trip slipped into the window between the beginnings of Corvid-19 travel restrictions and the eventual end to free travel movement. Our safari went ahead, and it was a glorious adventure. All plans went as scheduled. The superb staff at every camp and lodge went beyond expectations. Our driver/guides expertly got us through all the muddy roads (the early rains had never stopped). It was exhilarating! Their knowledge and experience was extraordinary. We managed in 14 days to see so many animals and birds, landscapes, sunset and sunrises to give us all memories for a lifetime of remembering. With the difficulties that arrived by March 23rd, our departure, Alaitol's staff was always there to help us get through it. My LAST thought is that we should all try to make plans now for when travel becomes possible again. Plan ahead and work with Alaitol Safari to design a safari in Northern Tanzania. The tourism industry and the thousands of people, families, and industries that it supports needs our support. The animals also need us there, as our presence helps to deter poaching! I am now saving money so I can go again when possible.
